Faire Isle Throwback
The fair isle sweater is a forever holiday and winter favorite. This classic knitwear originated as far back as the 19th century as a pattern worn by fisherman on a small island off the coast of Scotland. This island was actually named Fair Isle. Discovered and made popular by the royals in the 1920’s, the famous geometric designs have since been adopted and reimagined by designers for decades. This season the familiar print is appearing everywhere. I’m especially loving the vintage inspired cardigans and pullovers. Wear them with your favorite jeans, or styled over a printed dress for a the perfect holiday look. Here are some of my current favorites that I’m recommending to my clients this winter.
